Let's get started

So I'm told how fast and easy this is...the whole blog thing...and though I love reading my friends' blogs, I'm skeptical about doing our own...so we'll see how this goes.

Brendan just turned 5...on Thanksgiving. He wanted a volcano cake...and, thanks to Family Fun, he got the "coolest cake ever!" He also became "rich"...(he 'discovered' this after Seth explained how many Star Wars guys Brendan could buy with his birthday money). Needless to say, Brendan wants another birthday next week.

Thanksgiving was wonderfully chilly (in the 60's--which is jacket weather for us). We spent the weekend with Charlie's family in Pima, AZ (farm country ...yes, they do grow things in the dessert). We missed dinner--so our "Thanksgiving" consisted of cheesy potatoes...that was it. Appetizing, I know. Guess we won't sleep in next year. But, it was still fun hanging out with family & watching our city boys get filthy while enjoying the fresh air.

Dylan is almost 2 months old now. His "fame" hasn't worn off yet--he is still the first & last thing the "boys" (Seth, Brendan, & Luke) want to see every day. They keep waiting for him to not sleep so much (though we're a little grateful that he does--4 kids awake all day is still a little daunting). Dylan really is an excellent little guy. He's been sleeping through the night since Day 1 & calms down easily during the RARE unhappy moments. How lucky is that?

My leg is STILL broken. The boys don't think I'll ever be "fixed." But, I am being allowed to walk on it a little...so things are inching toward the finish line. One thing I've learned--it's amazing how different your house looks from the "wheelchair-height" perspective...you REALLY notice all the mess--so why don't the kids?) And, NO, this is not my house...there is absolutely NO southwestern decor in my house (no offense to those who like it).
